The 500 Series has long occupied an important place in Taylor's lineup, and this Next Generation interpretation combines the compact Grand Concert body with a 12-fret neck configuration, Western red cedar top, and neo-tropical mahogany back and sides. The result is a more intimate approach to the 12-string, built around touch sensitivity and playing comfort rather than sheer size and volume.

Western red cedar is an especially fitting choice for this design, contributing warmth, immediacy, and responsiveness that complement the natural octave shimmer of twelve strings. Neo-tropical mahogany back and sides add midrange focus and balance, helping individual notes retain definition when full chords become harmonically dense. Taylor's V-Class bracing supports sustain, projection, and note-to-note clarity, while the Grand Concert body keeps the response controlled and articulate.
