Shipping & Receiving Associate (full-time, in-person)

Description of Role

Haggerty’s Music is seeking a full-time Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our operations team. This role is responsible for managing the accurate intake, inspection, organization, and shipment of guitars, musical equipment, and related inventory across our retail and eCommerce channels.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and experienced in shipping and receiving processes, with a strong understanding of how operational accuracy directly impacts inventory integrity and customer satisfaction. This position plays a critical role in ensuring products are handled with care, processed efficiently, and shipped accurately.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Receive and process incoming shipments, including verifying quantities, condition, and accuracy against Purchase Orders (POs) and Receiving Orders (ROs).
  • Inspect guitars and musical equipment for damage, defects, or discrepancies and communicate issues as needed.
  • Accurately enter and update inventory data within internal systems.
  • Organize and maintain warehouse inventory, including bin locations and storage systems.
  • Pick, pack, and ship customer orders with a high level of accuracy and care.
  • Properly package guitars and high-value gear to ensure safe transit.
  • Coordinate with sales, inventory, listing, and photo teams to support workflow and order fulfillment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve shipping errors, inventory discrepancies, or damaged goods.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace at all times.
  • Operate barcode scanners, labeling systems, and shipping platforms as part of daily workflow.

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Previous experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially when handling high-value instruments and gear.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including inventory systems, shipping platforms, data entry, and email communication.
  • Experience working with Purchase Orders (POs) and Receiving Orders (ROs), including accurate verification and entry.
  • Ability to inspect incoming goods for quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to safely lift and move packages (typically up to 15 lbs, periodically up to 100 lbs) and remain on feet for extended periods.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
    Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with barcode scanners, labeling systems, and inventory tracking tools.
  • Experience packing fragile or high-value items.
  • Knowledge of guitars and musical equipment.
  • Passion for music.

Sales Person (full-time, in-person)

Description of Role

The Sales Person is a key member of Haggerty’s Music’s retail team, responsible for creating a welcoming, knowledgeable, and exceptional experience for every customer who walks through our doors. This role helps musicians at all levels find the right gear, answers product questions, and shares the story behind the brands and products we carry.

We’re seeking someone who is a dynamic self-starter - the kind of person who jumps in, keeps the shop looking sharp, stays in the know about new products, knows how to create a story around a customer's needs and brings great energy to every customer interaction.

Key Activities, Responsibilities and Duties

  • Greet customers and create a welcoming, friendly in-store environment
  • Listen to customers’ needs and help them find the right instruments and gear
  • Answer product questions clearly and confidently
  • Share the story and key features of the brands and products we carry
  • Offer thoughtful guidance and recommendations without “hard sell” tactics
  • Stay up to date on new products, promotions, and inventory
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor
  • Keep the shop looking sharp by straightening displays, restocking, and tidying as needed
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to support store goals and the overall customer experience
  • Represent Haggerty’s values of service, community, and a genuine passion for music

Qualifications

Required

  • Sales experience
  • Dynamic, self-starting attitude with a strong customer focus
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and professional
  • Enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Comfortable talking with customers and building relationships
  • Able to work full-time, in person, 5 days per week including Saturdays (store hours: Monday–Saturday, 9am–6pm MT)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to learn about products, brands, and the needs of different types of musicians

Preferred

  • Retail experience

  • Passion for music and musical instruments
  • Familiarity with guitars, amps, pedals, band/orchestra instruments, or related gear
