The Taylor Gold Label 917e SB Grand Pacific represents the pinnacle of Taylor’s Gold Label Collection — an instrument designed to deliver a bold, vintage-inspired voice while showcasing the company’s most refined craftsmanship. Built around a deeper Grand Pacific body, this round-shoulder dreadnought pushes Taylor’s acoustic character into new territory with a warmer, fuller low end and rich, blended response. The result is a guitar that feels reminiscent of classic vintage acoustics while still maintaining the precision, balance, and playability that define the Taylor brand.

The tonal core of the 917e SB comes from an exceptional tonewood pairing of torrefied Adirondack spruce and Honduran rosewood. The torrefied top gives the instrument a naturally aged character right out of the case, delivering immediate warmth and responsiveness. Meanwhile, Honduran rosewood — one of the densest and most resonant rosewood species — adds lush harmonic complexity, strong projection, and blooming overtones that make this guitar particularly inspiring for flatpicking, strumming, and dynamic acoustic playing.

Inside the guitar, Taylor’s Fanned V-Class bracing, applied with hot hide glue, enhances sustain, volume, and harmonic agreement across the entire fretboard. The innovative Action Control Neck further improves resonance through its long-tenon joint while allowing for precise neck adjustments to maintain ideal playability over time. Visually, the instrument is equally striking, featuring a Golden Brown “Teardrop” Sunburst, paua and mother-of-pearl Continental Deluxe inlays, grained ivoroid binding, and Gotoh 510 tuners with ebony buttons.
