Players searching for a flagship acoustic that blends innovation, beauty, and unmistakable tone will find their answer in the Taylor 814ce Special Edition — available now at Haggerty’s Music. Building on one of Taylor’s most iconic models, this Special Edition pushes the legacy forward with refined materials and cutting-edge design, offering a modern acoustic voice that still honors decades of craftsmanship and musical evolution. The Grand Auditorium body has long been Taylor’s most versatile platform, and here it becomes a canvas for both tonal sophistication and visual elegance.
What sets this particular 814ce apart is its pairing of a Bearclaw Sitka spruce top with Blackheart sassafras back and sides — a combination that delivers both clarity and character. The spruce provides a wide dynamic range with articulate highs, while the sassafras introduces a unique tonal complexity, sitting somewhere between mahogany warmth and rosewood depth. Taylor’s V-Class bracing enhances sustain, volume, and harmonic consistency across the fretboard, making this guitar exceptionally responsive whether you’re fingerpicking delicate passages or strumming with authority. The result is a voice that feels alive in your hands, offering both precision and expressive nuance.
Designed for both stage and studio, this 814ce is equipped with Taylor’s Claria electronics system for natural, transparent amplification. The comfortable Standard Carve neck and 25.5” scale length provide a familiar, effortless playing experience, while premium appointments like the green abalone rosette, ebony binding, and mother-of-pearl Element inlays elevate its aesthetic to match its sonic performance. Complete with a Taylor deluxe hardshell case, this Special Edition is a standout instrument for serious players seeking versatility, beauty, and world-class tone.
