Designed for the player who values an uncomplicated acoustic that feels inviting from the first chord, this Taylor 114 prototype combines the company's versatile Grand Auditorium body shape with a straightforward, all-acoustic design. A torrefied spruce top gives the guitar its solid-wood foundation, while layered sapele back and sides provide a durable complement to the top. The natural matte finish keeps the presentation understated, with black body binding and a white three-ring rosette providing simple visual definition.

Taylor's C-Class bracing with Relief Rout supports the top while fitting naturally with the Grand Auditorium's balanced design. The full 25.5" scale and Standard Carve maple neck maintain familiar Taylor playing proportions. With no cutaway, electronics, fingerboard inlays, or pickguard, the design places its emphasis squarely on the acoustic playing experience.

That simplicity makes the 114 prototype an appealing platform for strumming, flatpicking, songwriting, and everyday accompaniment. The torrefied spruce and sapele construction should provide a clear, balanced acoustic voice suited to a wide range of playing styles, while the Grand Auditorium body offers the versatility that has made the shape an important part of Taylor's lineup. Available now at Haggerty's Muisc.
