Stringjoy identified two major flaws in typical 10-52 sets—a weak 2nd string and a stiff 5th string—and redesigned the gauges from the ground up for total balance.

• Corrected Tension Profile: By subbing in a .0135 for the high end and a .040 for the 5th string, Stringjoy pulls the tension evenly across the entire fretboard. This prevents "floppy" high strings and "chunky" transitions, giving you a smooth, uniform feel.
• Massive Low-End Definition: The .052 low-E provides the extra tension needed for heavy down-tuning, aggressive picking, or simply a thicker, more authoritative rhythm sound that won't "mush out" under high gain.
