The Squier Paranormal Electric VI takes one of Fender’s most unusual vintage designs and turns it into something completely its own. The Electric XII-inspired body has plenty of retro character, but underneath that striking shape is a six-string guitar with a surprisingly thick, punchy voice. The pair of Fender-designed split-coil Alnico pickups deliver plenty of warmth and attitude, giving you everything from muscular clean tones to gritty, vintage-flavored sounds that work especially well for rock, garage, indie, and alternative styles.

What makes the Electric VI especially fun is the four-way rotary switch, which gives you more tonal variety than you might expect. You can move between the bridge pickup, both pickups in phase, both out of phase, and the neck pickup, opening up everything from full and powerful sounds to thinner, more cutting textures. The shorter 24.75-inch scale and slim “C” neck keep the guitar feeling comfortable and familiar, while the bound Indian Laurel fingerboard and pearloid block inlays add a distinctive vintage touch.

The Mustang-style tremolo brings another layer of expression, letting you add everything from subtle movement to more dramatic vibrato without taking away from the guitar’s character. Add the Coronado-inspired headstock, Electric XII-style control plate, and vintage-style tuners, and the Electric VI has a look that feels like it came from an alternate chapter of Fender history.
