The Scott Cao STV-850 Violin is a refined handcrafted instrument inspired by the legendary work of Antonio Stradivari, offering intermediate players a rich blend of traditional craftsmanship, elegant styling, and expressive tone. Carefully built and varnished in Guangzhou by top makers, this 4/4 violin is a selected copy of a famous instrument, designed to capture the warmth, balance, and responsiveness associated with classic European violin making.
Crafted with a resonant Italian spruce top and beautifully figured Bosnian maple back and sides, the STV-850 delivers a warm, articulate voice with excellent projection and tonal depth. The premium tonewoods provide strong resonance and dynamic sensitivity, making the instrument well suited for orchestral, solo, and ensemble playing. A straight varnish finish enhances the natural beauty of the woods while allowing the instrument to vibrate freely for a more open and expressive sound. The Indian ebony fingerboard and Hill-style ebony fittings complete the violin with a timeless, professional appearance and long-lasting durability.
Designed with playability and comfort in mind, the STV-850 offers a smooth, balanced feel that encourages confident technique development and expressive performance. The carefully shaped neck allows for comfortable shifting and precise control, while the responsive setup provides clarity and consistency across every register. Ebony pegs and premium Hill-style fittings contribute dependable tuning stability and refined detail throughout the instrument. Whether used for lessons, recitals, or ensemble performances, the Scott Cao STV-850 provides the craftsmanship, tone, and responsiveness that growing violinists can continue to develop with for years to come. Frequently Asked Questions
Do you set up every guitar before it ships?
Yes. Every guitar that leaves our store has been professionally inspected, set up, and signed off by the technician who worked on it. You will find a signed checklist inside the box when your order arrives.
How accurate are your condition descriptions?
We treat condition grading as a contractual promise, not an approximation. When we list something as excellent, that reflects a specific, consistent standard we apply across every instrument. We encourage you to call us before purchasing if you want a detailed in-hand description of any specific guitar.
Can I call and speak to someone about a guitar before I buy?
Yes, and we encourage it. Our team are working musicians, not order-takers. Call us at 605-348-6737 and ask about any instrument in our inventory. We will physically pull it off the wall and describe it to you in detail.
