The Santa Cruz 000 45 Style Acoustic represents the company’s commitment to exceptional craftsmanship and tone, combining elegant design with some of the finest tonewoods available. Its 000 body shape offers a balanced and responsive voice that suits fingerstyle playing as easily as light strumming, delivering clarity, warmth, and impressive projection from a comfortable, compact platform. With refined visual details and meticulous handwork throughout, this instrument reflects the thoughtful artistry that has made Santa Cruz Guitar Company one of the most respected boutique builders in the acoustic world.
A remarkable tonewood pairing sits at the heart of this guitar, featuring an Old Growth Adirondack spruce top matched with koa back and sides. Adirondack spruce is prized for its power, headroom, and dynamic response, while koa adds a warm midrange sweetness and shimmering high-end character that continues to deepen with age. Santa Cruz is known for sourcing old-growth woods whenever possible—timber that grew slowly over centuries, resulting in tight, uniform grain, remarkable stability, and an exceptionally responsive tonal character that many players feel simply cannot be replicated with younger woods.
Visually, the instrument carries the elegance expected of a 45-style guitar while adding distinctive Santa Cruz flair. Blue paua shell accents appear throughout the design, including the rosette, top border, backstrip, and headstock binding, with additional paua details set into the snakewood-bound fingerboard. These vibrant touches of iridescent shell contrast beautifully with the natural tones of koa and the deep hues of snakewood, giving the guitar a sophisticated and striking visual presence.
For stage and studio use, the guitar is equipped with LR Baggs Hi-Fi Duet electronics, blending a high-fidelity bridge plate sensor system with an internal microphone to capture both the clarity of the strings and the natural air of the instrument’s body. This system allows players to achieve an authentic amplified acoustic tone while maintaining the nuance and dynamics that define a fine handcrafted guitar. The result is an instrument that delivers boutique craftsmanship, rare materials, and remarkable tonal depth in a beautifully balanced 000 design.
