The Reverend Spy makes a triumphant return, reviving one of the brand’s cult-favorite designs for a limited run with modern upgrades. Originally beloved for its trio of lipstick pickups and distinctive tonal sparkle, the Spy earned a reputation among players who valued its shimmering cleans, tight attack, and unique voice. This modern version retains that vintage spirit while introducing Reverend’s updated Power Tube pickups—lipstick-style units with stronger magnets and extra windings for greater punch, output, and dynamic response.

The Korina body provides the lively resonance and harmonic richness Reverend guitars are known for, while the roasted maple neck adds stability, smooth playability, and a subtle vintage aesthetic. The Spy’s triple-pickup configuration delivers everything from glassy, surf-inspired chime to gritty, overdriven bite, making it a perfect choice for indie rock, garage rock, alternative, blues, and retro-inspired styles. The push-pull Studio Switch dramatically expands the tonal palette by unlocking additional pickup combinations — including neck and bridge together, or all three pickups at once — bringing the total to seven unique tones.

A Wilkinson WVS50 IIK tremolo adds expressive vibrato with excellent tuning stability, especially when paired with Reverend’s Pin-Lock tuners and Boneite nut. Combined with Reverend’s signature Bass Contour control for reshaping the low end, the Spy offers far more versatility than its vintage inspiration suggests.
