The PRS 40th Anniversary Special Semi-Hollow Limited Edition celebrates four decades of Paul Reed Smith’s relentless pursuit of tone, craftsmanship, and innovation. A limited model, this striking example pairs an artist-grade figured maple top with a resonant black limba body and neck, finished in a custom pink-to-blue burst that shifts beautifully across the flame. The semi-hollow design with a single f-hole adds air and dimension to the voice, giving the guitar a lively acoustic character while maintaining the focus and sustain players expect from a PRS.
At the heart of the instrument is an incredibly flexible Hum/NF/Hum pickup layout, featuring PRS McCarty III pickups in the neck and bridge with a PRS Narrowfield in the middle. Paired with a 5-way switch and two mini-toggle coil taps, the result is twelve distinct pickup combinations ranging from warm, full humbucker richness to articulate single-coil sparkle. Whether you roll back the tone for gritty bite or open it up for shimmering clarity, the sound remains balanced and musical across all settings, making this one of the most versatile PRS designs to date.
Premium appointments reinforce the celebratory nature of this model, including a Honduran rosewood fingerboard and headstock veneer, “Old School” bird inlays, and the vintage-inspired Pre-Factory eagle on the headstock. A comfortable Pattern neck, PRS Gen III patented tremolo, and Phase III locking tuners ensure exceptional playability and rock-solid tuning stability. Hand-signed with a 40th Anniversary certificate and complete with its hardshell case, this limited PRS stands as both a remarkable instrument and a tribute to the legacy of the brand.

How accurate are your condition descriptions?
