The Powers Electric A-Type PF42 in Chroma Stratus colors is a bold, ground-up rethinking of electric guitar design, inspired by the surf, skate, auto, and music cultures of San Diego. A polished solid maple top brings clarity and snap, paired with urban ash back and sides that add balance, warmth, and focused resonance beneath the color-shifting finish. The slim, fully enclosed trussed hollowbody—reinforced with internal soundposts and a braced solid-wood top—keeps the instrument remarkably lightweight while enhancing resonance, sustaining notes with a lyrical bloom, and effectively suppressing unwanted feedback.

The one-piece mahogany neck features the comfortable Powers Electric carve and a smooth Velvet finish, flowing effortlessly into a Honduran rosewood fretboard with an asymmetrical radius. Flatter along the treble side, this unique geometry allows for easier, choke-free bends and a more consistent tonal character across the strings. Twin Arch Italian acrylic inlays add subtle refinement, while the continuous contour nut and jumbo frets contribute to a playing experience that feels balanced, responsive, and inspiring whether seated or standing.

Equipped with dual PF42 Partial Faraday single-coil pickups, this model emphasizes a firm, bright, and punchy response while maintaining clarity and warmth through a modern magnetic structure that allows the strings to vibrate naturally. The proprietary CamTail vibrato system keeps the strings moving in pitch relative to one another during dives and bends, preserving harmonic balance and tuning cohesion.
