The Martin Road Series SC-13E Modern Acoustic/Electric Guitar is built for players who want a modern acoustic experience that feels as smooth and fast as an electric, without sacrificing the rich, expressive tone Martin is known for. At its core is a solid spruce top paired with koa fine veneer back and sides, creating a voice that is balanced, clear, and responsive whether you’re fingerpicking delicate passages or driving full, dynamic strumming patterns. The innovative asymmetrical SC body shape and Tone Tension X-bracing enhance projection and clarity, while the Low Profile Velocity neck and Sure Align neck system provide effortless access all the way up the fretboard.
What truly sets the SC-13E Modern apart is its focus on playability and performance. The design removes traditional barriers of the acoustic guitar, offering a sleek, contoured feel that encourages longer playing sessions and more expressive lead work. The LR Baggs Element electronics system ensures that what you hear unplugged translates beautifully on stage, delivering a natural, articulate amplified tone that stays true to the guitar’s acoustic character. From studio work to live performance, this instrument is built to adapt, inspire, and keep up with modern players who demand versatility without compromise.
Whether you’re stepping into more advanced performance territory or simply want a guitar that keeps up with your creativity, the SC-13E Modern delivers a refined, forward-thinking playing experience wrapped in classic Martin craftsmanship. It includes a protective gig bag for easy transport and peace of mind on the road. The Martin Road Series SC-13E Modern Acoustic/Electric Guitar with Gig Bag is available at Haggerty’s Music, where players can experience its comfort, tone, and innovation firsthand.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you set up every guitar before it ships?
Yes. Every guitar that leaves our store has been professionally inspected, set up, and signed off by the technician who worked on it. You will find a signed checklist inside the box when your order arrives.
How accurate are your condition descriptions?
We treat condition grading as a contractual promise, not an approximation. When we list something as excellent, that reflects a specific, consistent standard we apply across every instrument. We encourage you to call us before purchasing if you want a detailed in-hand description of any specific guitar.
Can I call and speak to someone about a guitar before I buy?
Yes, and we encourage it. Our team are working musicians, not order-takers. Call us at 605-348-6737 and ask about any instrument in our inventory. We will physically pull it off the wall and describe it to you in detail.
What is your return policy?
We offer a 14-day return policy if you change your mind and the item is returned undamaged. You are responsible for return shipping costs.
