Built with a solid spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides, it delivers the clear, balanced voice, powerful projection, and unmistakable character that have made the D-18 one of the most recorded and performed acoustic guitars in history.

For 2025 and beyond, Martin refreshed the Standard Series with enhancements inspired by vintage instruments and modern player preferences. The D-18 benefits from GE-Scalloped forward-shifted X-bracing, helping unlock greater resonance, sustain, and responsiveness while preserving the punchy midrange and articulate treble response that players expect. The satin-finished neck features Martin’s GE Modified Low Oval profile and High-Performance Taper, creating a fast, comfortable feel that accommodates everything from flatpicking and strumming to intricate fingerstyle work.
