This Martin Custom Shop Dreadnought is the kind of guitar that immediately feels like something special. With highly figured koa covering the top, back, and sides, it has an unmistakable visual presence, but the real reward comes when you hear it. The koa produces a clear, focused voice with a warm richness underneath, giving the guitar plenty of punch for flatpicking while remaining responsive and expressive when you move into fingerstyle or more relaxed strumming.

There is a wonderful balance between power and detail here. The dreadnought body has the projection to fill a room, while scalloped spruce bracing helps the guitar breathe and keeps individual notes articulate within the larger voice. As you dig in, the guitar responds with more volume and harmonic complexity, but it can also settle into a warm, controlled character when you lighten your touch. The gloss finish lets the figuring of the koa shine, while the satin-finished neck makes the guitar feel smooth and inviting from the first chord.

The understated appointments give this Custom Shop build an elegant personality without taking attention away from the wood. A black ebony fingerboard and bridge are complemented by custom off-center dot inlays, ebony binding, and a refined Style 28-inspired rosette, while bone nut and saddle and Grover open-gear tuners complete the package.
