The Martin Custom Shop 000 Macassar Ebony is a striking example of Martin’s bespoke craftsmanship, built for players who want something truly rare and personal. Martin Custom Shop instruments are designed with hand-selected materials and thoughtful specifications that go beyond standard production models, resulting in guitars that feel unique both visually and sonically. This 000-sized build balances comfort and projection, making it equally suited for fingerstyle nuance and dynamic flatpicking.
At the heart of this guitar is a sinker redwood top, prized for its quick responsiveness, rich overtones, and warm, broken-in character that feels vintage from the first strum. Paired with scalloped X-bracing, the top delivers excellent headroom while remaining touch-sensitive and expressive. The 000 body shape keeps the sound focused and articulate, offering clarity across the spectrum without sacrificing depth.
The back and sides are crafted from striped Macassar ebony, a dramatic and tonally powerful tonewood known for its piano-like clarity, strong low end, and shimmering highs. Macassar ebony adds definition and sustain, complementing the warmth of the redwood top while enhancing note separation and projection. European flamed maple binding throughout the body, fingerboard, and headstock adds a refined visual contrast that highlights the guitar’s custom nature.
A GE Modified Low Oval neck with a satin finish provides a comfortable, broken-in feel, while the long 25.4” scale length adds snap and articulation to the overall response. Ebony appointments, vintage-style Grover tuners, and a dovetail neck joint complete this thoughtfully executed instrument. Built in 2025 and housed in a hardshell case, this Martin Custom Shop 000 Macassar Ebony is available now at Haggerty’s Music for players seeking a refined, one-of-a-kind acoustic voice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Every guitar that leaves our store has been professionally inspected, set up, and signed off by the technician who worked on it. You will find a signed checklist inside the box when your order arrives.
How accurate are your condition descriptions?
We treat condition grading as a contractual promise, not an approximation. When we list something as excellent, that reflects a specific, consistent standard we apply across every instrument. We encourage you to call us before purchasing if you want a detailed in-hand description of any specific guitar.
