Built around IK Multimedia's AI Machine Modeling technology, TONEX can reproduce Tone Models created from individual pedals, amplifiers, or complete pedal-amp-cab signal chains and make them available without a computer during performance. Up to 150 customizable presets can be stored onboard across 50 banks, while the larger TONEX ecosystem opens access to thousands of downloadable Tone Models and presets through ToneNET.

TONEX goes beyond amp and rig modeling with VIR multi-IR cabinet simulation, custom IR loading, a noise gate, EQ, compressor, two delays, five modulation effects, and six stereo reverbs, allowing it to function as the core of a streamlined stage or recording rig. MIDI In/Out and an expression-pedal input make it easy to integrate with larger pedalboards and automated live setups, while its headphone output supports quiet practice. It can also double as a USB audio interface, and its high-quality 24-bit/192 kHz conversion, 5 Hz–24 kHz frequency response, and up to 123 dB dynamic range are designed to preserve detail throughout the signal chain. Housed in a compact anodized-aluminum chassis designed and crafted in Italy, TONEX provides a portable bridge between captured analog gear, software-based tone libraries, studio recording, and live performance.
