When a guitarist wants the unmistakable presence of a Gretsch Falcon but with an even more distinctive visual identity, the G6136TGQM-59 Limited Edition Quilt Classic Falcon turns one of the company's most celebrated designs into a showcase for highly figured maple and late-'50s-inspired appointments. The Falcon has occupied the top end of the Gretsch lineup since its emergence in the 1950s, becoming known for its oversized hollowbody construction, ornate detailing, and commanding stage presence. This limited-edition Japanese-built interpretation wraps that heritage in dramatic quilt maple and a Forge Glow nitrocellulose finish, complemented by gold hardware and aged-white binding.

Underneath its elaborate presentation is a construction recipe rooted firmly in the Falcon's golden era. Its 2.75"-deep hollow body uses laminated quilt maple throughout, with an arched quilt maple top and back and 1959-style trestle bracing reinforcing the body while helping focus its response. The set maple neck has a comfortable Standard U profile, while a 12" radius ebony fingerboard, 22 medium-jumbo frets, and 25.5" scale provide a familiar playing surface for everything from open chords to articulate lead work. Mother-of-pearl Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays, bound F-holes, extensive aged-white binding and purfling, Grover Imperial tuners, and a gold Plexi Falcon pickguard carry forward the extravagant visual language that has always distinguished the Falcon from more understated hollowbody designs.

A pair of TV Jones Ray Butts Ful-Fidelity pickups completes the vintage-minded formula, delivering the clarity, definition, and dynamic response associated with classic Filter'Tron-style sounds. Individual neck and bridge pickup volume controls work alongside a master volume and three-position tone switch, providing quick access to everything from bright, percussive rhythm sounds to warmer hollowbody textures and cutting lead tones. The pinned Space Control bridge and Bigsby B6GVT vibrato add the expressive shimmer expected from a high-end Gretsch, making this Falcon particularly compelling for rockabilly, roots rock, country, Americana, blues, classic rock, jazz-influenced playing, and atmospheric styles.
