Every legendary guitar tells the story of the artist who inspired it, and few names carry more influence than Chet Atkins. Available now at Haggerty's Music, the Gretsch G6122T-59 Vintage Select Edition '59 Country Gentleman faithfully recreates one of the most iconic instruments ever built, capturing the elegance, craftsmanship, and unmistakable tone that helped define generations of country, jazz, rockabilly, and rock 'n' roll. Built to Vintage Select specifications, this remarkable hollow body combines period-correct appointments with modern precision, making it equally appealing to collectors, professional performers, and players seeking one of Gretsch's finest offerings.
The laminated figured maple body with parallel bracing delivers exceptional resonance, articulate note separation, and impressive feedback resistance while maintaining the warm, refined voice that made the original Country Gentleman famous. A comfortable Standard "U" maple neck joins an ebony fingerboard adorned with aged pearloid Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays and vintage-style small frets, creating an elegant playing experience that feels every bit as refined as its appearance. Finished in a stunning Walnut Stain gloss nitrocellulose lacquer with painted F-holes, aged white binding with black purfling, and luxurious gold hardware, this guitar perfectly captures the sophisticated style of the late-1950s original while remaining ready for today's stage and studio demands.
A pair of TV Jones Super'Tron pickups delivers remarkable clarity, dynamic response, and rich harmonic complexity, faithfully reproducing everything from sparkling clean fingerstyle passages to warm jazz voicings and articulate rockabilly rhythms. The vintage-inspired control layout, featuring individual bridge pickup volume along with master volume and tone controls enhanced by Gretsch Squeezebox capacitors, provides an impressive range of tonal possibilities while preserving the smooth, musical high end that vintage enthusiasts prize. A pinned Rocking Bar bridge, Bigsby B6GWVT vibrato with wire handle, Grover Imperial tuners, and a genuine bone nut complete an instrument that offers timeless elegance, exceptional stability, and unmistakable Gretsch character. Complete with a Gretsch hardshell case, the G6122T-59 is a fitting tribute to one of the greatest guitarists in history.

How accurate are your condition descriptions?
We treat condition grading as a contractual promise, not an approximation. When we list something as excellent, that reflects a specific, consistent standard we apply across every instrument.
