Adding a distinctive, shimmering octave texture to your guitar arrangements no longer requires learning entirely new mandolin chord shapes or struggling with awkward fingerings. Tuning standard E-to-E just an octave higher like a traditional 12-string guitar, this instrument blends the bright, ringing chime of a mandolin with the familiar fretboard navigation you already know. Built on a larger F-style mandola body, its enlarged resonant air chamber delivers impressive acoustic projection, rich low-end presence, and a warm, woody acoustic timber that cuts cleanly through any mix.
Playing convenience and tuning stability are built into every detail of the design. An extended 15-inch scale length provides comfortable hand room along the radiused fretboard—making complex bar chords near the nut surprisingly easy—while the innovative Zero Glide nut eliminates string friction for smooth tuning and low, effortless action. For live performances and studio tracking, an ebony bridge with a built-in pickup captures your tone with natural clarity the second you plug into an amplifier or PA system.
Whether you want to layer lush acoustic tracks in the recording studio, bring new color to a solo gig, or explore open tunings for sparkling harmonic strumming, this hybrid instrument sparks fresh musical ideas every time you pick it up. Head down to Haggerty’s Music to plug in, strum a few familiar chords, and experience this shimmering 12-string sound for yourself.

Yes. Every guitar that leaves our store has been professionally inspected, set up, and signed off by the technician who worked on it. You will find a signed checklist inside the box when your order arrives.
How accurate are your condition descriptions?
We treat condition grading as a contractual promise, not an approximation. When we list something as excellent, that reflects a specific, consistent standard we apply across every instrument. We encourage you to call us before purchasing if you want a detailed in-hand description of any specific guitar.
