The Gibson LG-2 All Mahogany Faded Acoustic/Electric Guitar pays homage to one of Gibson’s most charming and expressive small-body designs. First introduced in 1942 during Gibson’s “Banner” era, the LG-2 became beloved for its big, warm sound that defied its compact size. This modern All-Mahogany Faded version revives a rare wartime variant built entirely from mahogany, capturing the rich, soulful tone that defined early folk, blues, and Americana recordings. Its smaller body size offers an intimate, comfortable playing experience with exceptional midrange focus, while the all-mahogany construction delivers the earthy warmth, smooth overtones, and soft attack that make it perfect for fingerstyle, singer-songwriter, and roots-inspired genres.

Constructed with a solid mahogany top, back, and sides, the LG-2 All Mahogany Faded uses traditional scalloped X-bracing to enhance resonance and projection while maintaining clarity and balance. The rounded mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard provide an effortless, familiar feel under the fingers, while the L.R. Baggs VTC pickup system captures the guitar’s natural warmth with stage- and studio-ready fidelity. Elegant yet understated, its satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish, black teardrop pickguard, and single-ply black binding evoke the classic Gibson aesthetic of the 1940s. Complete with a Gibson hardshell case, the LG-2 All Mahogany Faded combines timeless design with modern reliability for today’s versatile acoustic player, and it’s available right now at Haggerty’s Music.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you set up every guitar before it ships?

Yes. Every guitar that leaves our store has been professionally inspected, set up, and signed off by the technician who worked on it. You will find a signed checklist inside the box when your order arrives.

How accurate are your condition descriptions?

We treat condition grading as a contractual promise, not an approximation. When we list something as excellent, that reflects a specific, consistent standard we apply across every instrument. We encourage you to call us before purchasing if you want a detailed in-hand description of any specific guitar.

Can I call and speak to someone about a guitar before I buy?

Yes, and we encourage it. Our team are working musicians, not order-takers. Call us at 605-348-6737 and ask about any instrument in our inventory. We will physically pull it off the wall and describe it to you in detail.

What is your return policy?

We offer a 14-day return policy if you change your mind and the item is returned undamaged. You are responsible for return shipping costs.
