This meticulous reissue from the Murphy Lab revives the spirit of those early models with period-accurate details and masterful heavy aging that recreates decades of road-worn character — complete with finish checking, buckle rash, and subtle playwear.

Hand-built with a thermally aged Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides, the 1960 Hummingbird delivers rich, vintage-inspired tone with exceptional warmth, midrange power, and shimmering highs. The traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing enhances projection and resonance, while the round-profile mahogany neck and compound dovetail joint (set with hot hide glue) ensure superior stability and tone transfer. Finished in Murphy Lab aged nitrocellulose with the instantly recognizable casted Hummingbird pickguard, this model is a visual and sonic tribute to the iconic acoustic era of the 1960s.
