Javier Reyes distinct tone, and innovative, classically influenced approach on 8-string guitar is the perfect complement to his Animals As Leaders (AAL) bandmate Tosin Abasi.
Whether he's performing with AAL or one of his other projects; Mestis and T.R.A.M., Javier is a thoughtful player who knows what he wants, and most importantly why he wants it. That thoughtfulness led Javier on a quest that led him to Fishman Fluence, and to the creation of his signature pickup set.
Javier's pickups are unique among other Fluence artist sets in that they reflect his desire for warmer passive tones, smooth musical top-end, and organic dynamics. And, like all Fishman Fluence pickups, the Javier Reyes signature set is Multi Voice and free from the hum, noise and frustrating inductance issues that plague even the most coveted wire-wound pickups.
Neck Pickup Voicings:
- Voice 1: Fat, bubbly neck pickup tone, round and smooth top end, potent individual notes.
- Voice 2: A Fluence-exclusive neck tone, warm and lively lows and low mids, taking on an almost hollowbody jazzbox character.
- Voice 3: Clear, open single coil tone.
Bridge Pickup Voicings:
- Voice 1: Thick low end, low midrange growl plus aggressive upper mids, able to create a huge wall of sound while still retaining note-to-note separation.
- Voice 2: Searing lead tone with organic treble and harmonics.
- Voice 3: Clear, open single coil tone.
Fluence Signature Series Javier Reyes Pickups:
- Are Multi-Voice. Set and forget, or wire-up to toggle between three musically complimentary voices.
- Drop right in and replace 6, 7 and 8-string humbucker pickups.
- Are rechargeable on your guitar. Optional lithium-ion battery pack offers weeks, not hours, of playing time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you set up every guitar before it ships?
Yes. Every guitar that leaves our store has been professionally inspected, set up, and signed off by the technician who worked on it. You will find a signed checklist inside the box when your order arrives.
How accurate are your condition descriptions?
We treat condition grading as a contractual promise, not an approximation. When we list something as excellent, that reflects a specific, consistent standard we apply across every instrument. We encourage you to call us before purchasing if you want a detailed in-hand description of any specific guitar.
Can I call and speak to someone about a guitar before I buy?
Yes, and we encourage it. Our team are working musicians, not order-takers. Call us at 605-348-6737 and ask about any instrument in our inventory. We will physically pull it off the wall and describe it to you in detail.
What is your return policy?
We offer a 14-day return policy if you change your mind and the item is returned undamaged. You are responsible for return shipping costs.
