Some guitars become legendary because of who built them. Others become legendary because of who played them. Michael Landau's "Coma" Stratocaster earned its reputation by doing both. Available at Haggerty's Music, this remarkable artist model faithfully recreates the guitar that has accompanied one of the most respected session musicians in history through decades of groundbreaking recordings. From James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, and Michael Jackson to Pink Floyd, Rod Stewart, Boz Scaggs, Bonnie Raitt, and countless others, Landau's unmistakable touch helped shape the soundtrack of modern music, and "Coma" was almost always in his hands.

Originally discovered in a Los Angeles guitar shop when Landau was just sixteen years old, "Coma" was already far from original, giving him the freedom to continually reinvent the instrument as his musical voice evolved. Its unmistakable half-stripped Dakota Red finish, hand-written "Coma" graphic, Floyd Rose route, and ever-changing electronics became symbols of a guitar that was never meant to stay frozen in time. Rather than preserving a museum piece, Fender chose to capture the instrument exactly as it exists today, complete with its battle-tested personality and modernized performance.

Built in the USA, this Stories Collection model combines a resonant alder body finished in satin nitrocellulose lacquer with a custom "C" maple neck and vintage-style 7.25" slab rosewood fingerboard. Custom ML Ultra Noiseless single-coils deliver articulate vintage-inspired Strat tones while the custom ML CuNiFe Wide-Range humbucker adds exceptional warmth, punch, and versatility in the bridge position. Complete with a custom embroidered vintage-style navy blue hardshell case, commemorative accessories, and period-correct details throughout, the Michael Landau Coma Stratocaster is an inspiring tribute to one of the greatest recording guitars ever assembled.
