This Fender Custom Shop Master Built ’58 Telecaster in Natural Brazilian Rosewood is an extraordinary fusion of Fender heritage and the artistry of Master Builder David Brown. Handcrafted by Brown himself, this one-of-a-kind creation celebrates the spirit of Fender’s early solidbody designs while elevating them through the use of rare, exotic tonewoods and masterful detail. Its roasted ash body is crowned with a stunning Brazilian rosewood top, producing warm, harmonically rich tones with the crisp clarity and sustain that define Fender’s most revered instruments.
David Brown’s journey with Fender began in 2000, and his decades of experience in guitar construction, repair, and artist collaborations have shaped him into one of the Custom Shop’s most respected builders. Known for combining technical precision with a deep understanding of musical feel, Brown builds guitars that are both artistically expressive and performance-ready. His return to the Custom Shop marks a full-circle moment in a career dedicated to craftsmanship, tone, and authenticity—values reflected in every inch of this instrument.
A hand-wound ’58 Tele bridge pickup delivers classic twang and snap, perfectly balanced by a hand-wound P-90 neck pickup for a warm, expressive midrange. The oil-finished Brazilian rosewood neck and fingerboard offer a buttery, organic feel with modern playability enhanced by medium jumbo frets and a 9.5” radius. Finished with period-correct details like chrome/nickel hardware, parchment pickguard, and a vintage-style Tele decal, this instrument embodies the pinnacle of Fender craftsmanship. Available now at Haggerty’s Music, this Master Built Telecaster comes with a tweed hardshell case, certificate of authenticity, and a premium leather strap.
