The EVH SA-126 Special in Platinum Pearl Metallic represents a bold step forward in modern guitar design. Conceived by Wolfgang Van Halen, the SA-126 challenges traditional categories by blending elements of a semi-hollow and solidbody into one cohesive, high-performance instrument. At the heart of the SA-126 is a chambered mahogany body paired with a basswood center block, delivering the resonance and airiness of a semi-hollow with the focused punch and feedback resistance of a solidbody. The quilt maple top and 5-ply binding elevate the visual appeal, while the graphite-reinforced bolt-on mahogany neck ensures strength and consistency. With a 24.75" scale length and a 12"-16" compound radius ebony fingerboard, this guitar feels instantly familiar yet distinctly modern — comfortable for chord work down low as well as wide, effortless bends and fast lead runs up high. A heel-mounted spoke wheel truss rod allows quick, on-the-fly adjustments.

Tonally, the direct-mount SA-126 humbuckers — developed with pickup designer Tim Shaw and the EVH team — are built for dynamic range. Expect cascading, glassy cleans, muscular midrange punch, and saturated high-gain tones that retain clarity under heavy distortion.
