Players ready to explore lower tunings and the expanded range of a seven-string need an instrument that keeps those low notes tight, articulate, and playable rather than letting them disappear into mud. The ESP LTD M-207DX Baritone brings that capability to the accessible 200DX Series, pairing the aggressive, performance-driven identity of ESP's M platform with a 27" baritone scale built for extended-range playing. The M Series has long been associated with fast necks, straightforward controls, and a stripped-down approach that puts performance first, and this seven-string version carries that philosophy into modern low-tuned territory.

The 27" scale is central to this guitar's personality, providing additional string tension and definition that make it particularly well suited to metal, progressive metal, djent, metalcore, hard rock, and other styles built around low tunings and precise rhythmic playing. The roasted maple neck uses ESP's Extra Thin U contour for a fast, streamlined feel, while 24 extra-jumbo frets give lead players plenty of room to work across the instrument's extended range. Its poplar body and flamed maple top keep the design visually distinctive without getting in the way of its working-guitar purpose, and the fixed TOM-style bridge with string-through-body construction makes it a particularly straightforward platform for players who prioritize tuning stability, alternate tunings, and tight rhythm work.

A pair of passive ESP LH-150 humbuckers gives the M-207DX a punchy, assertive voice capable of handling substantial gain while retaining the definition needed for a seven-string baritone. Expect the bridge position to deliver a focused attack for palm-muted riffs and low-register chord work, while the neck pickup provides a fuller voice for fluid leads and warmer clean passages. Pulling the tone control engages single-coil mode, adding brighter and leaner textures that expand the guitar beyond its obvious high-gain strengths. Whether it's being used for massive rhythm tracks, progressive arrangements, ambient extended-range cleans, or technically demanding lead work, the M-207DX Baritone provides an approachable entry into the seven-string world without losing the performance-oriented character associated with ESP and LTD. Finished in See Thru Black Satin over a flamed maple top, this 2026 M-207DX Baritone is available at Haggerty's Music.
