Inspired by Tak Matsumoto’s cherished 1955 Les Paul, this Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom model brings the unmistakable character of an early Les Paul together with the refined feel modern players expect. The solid mahogany body and maple top give it a resonant, sustaining voice, while the one-piece mahogany neck and long neck tenon provide a solid foundation that feels substantial without getting in the way. The custom Tak Matsumoto neck profile sits slightly slimmer than a traditional ’59 carve, giving you a comfortable, confident grip whether you’re digging into chords or stretching out for lead work.

Plugged in, the pair of Gibson Burstbucker Pro Alnico 5 pickups delivers the punch, clarity, and harmonic detail that make this Les Paul such a versatile performer. The 50s wiring, vintage-taper CTS potentiometers, and Grey Tiger capacitors keep the controls highly responsive, letting you clean things up with your volume knob or roll back the tone for a warmer, smoother voice. The Gibson Historic Wraparound bridge adds to the guitar’s direct, resonant response, while the 24.75" scale and rosewood fingerboard make it feel immediately familiar under the hands.

There’s a lot of vintage-inspired personality in the details, from the Gibson-style open-book headstock with its historically positioned Epiphone logo to the Pro Rock Gear strap locks and classic appointments throughout.
