A player drawn to the sound and style of a late-'50s Les Paul but looking for the quicker feel that emerged in 1960 will find the Epiphone Inspired by Gibson 1960 Les Paul Standard Reissue built around that pivotal moment in the model's history. The original 1960 Les Paul Standard retained the mahogany-and-maple construction and dual-humbucker formula of the celebrated 1959 model while transitioning toward a slimmer neck profile that gave the guitar a noticeably different feel in the hand. Developed in partnership with Gibson Custom, this Epiphone reissue recreates that combination with a mahogany body, carved maple top with AAA flame maple veneer, one-piece mahogany neck, long neck tenon, and period-inspired appointments.

The 60s SlimTaper neck is central to this model's personality, providing a faster-playing alternative to the fuller profiles associated with many earlier Les Pauls while retaining the familiar 24.75" scale, 12" rosewood fingerboard, and 22 Medium Jumbo frets. A Gibson-style Open Book headstock, aged mother-of-pearl Epiphone logo, gold Les Paul Model silkscreen, mother-of-pearl trapezoid inlays, cream binding, Historic-style pickguard, and Vintage Gloss finish reinforce the early-1960 aesthetic. An ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic and lightweight historical aluminum Stop Bar maintain the traditional fixed-bridge layout, while Epiphone Deluxe Double Ring Keystone tuners and nickel hardware complete the vintage-inspired presentation.

The electronics take the historical approach considerably further with a pair of Gibson Custombucker humbuckers, using Alnico 3 magnets and traditional individual Volume and Tone controls. CTS potentiometers, Bumblebee paper-in-oil capacitors, and Switchcraft switching and output components give the signal path appointments normally associated with significantly more expensive vintage-inspired builds. Players can expect the combination of a mahogany body, maple top, and Custombuckers to cover warm neck-pickup leads, open and articulate middle-position sounds, and the punch and bite of a bridge humbucker, making this Les Paul equally comfortable with blues, classic rock, hard rock, roots music, country, and studio work. Finished in Washed Cherry Sunburst, this 2026 guitar is available at Haggerty's Music and includes a brown Inspired by Gibson Custom hardshell case with pink plush interior.
