Experience the rich, full-bodied sounds of classic British amplification with the Electronic Audio Experiments Citadel, now available at Haggerty’s Music. This powerful preamp-style overdrive pedal captures the spirit of iconic tube amps from the ‘60s and ‘70s — all in a compact, pedalboard-friendly format.
Whether you're chasing sparkling clean tones, bright articulate crunch, or sizzling lead saturation, the Citadel delivers it all with stunning realism and dynamic response. Designed to emulate both the preamp and power amp sections of a vintage tube amplifier, the Citadel can be used as a versatile drive pedal or as the cornerstone of your ampless rig setup.
Vintage British Tone. Modern Versatility.
The EAE Citadel Overdrive isn’t just inspired by one amp — it’s a tribute to an entire generation of British tones. From Marshall Plexi grit to Super Bass growl, this pedal distills the essence of your favorite golden-era amps and reimagines them through a modern lens.
Born from experiments with the renowned Model feT, the Citadel trades the low-end sludge of its Model T-inspired origins for sparkling midrange clarity, warm piano-like cleans, and powerful overdrive textures that respond beautifully to boosts and fuzzes.
Key Features of the EAE Citadel:
- British-Inspired Overdrive – Emulates legendary British amps from the '60s and '70s
- Preamp & Power Amp Simulation – Delivers authentic feel and touch sensitivity
- Dynamic Gain Staging – From clean boost to rich overdrive to fuzzy saturation
- Highly Responsive to Boosts and Drives – Perfect for stacking with other pedals
- Dual Functionality – Use as a conventional overdrive or the heart of an ampless setup
- Compact, Road-Ready Design – Ideal for live performance and studio sessions
Your New Favorite Foundation Tone
What sets the Citadel Overdrive Pedal apart is its flexibility. Whether you’re running direct to front-of-house, into an interface, or into the front end of a clean amp, the Citadel adds warmth, clarity, and vintage character with every note. The powerful gain structure and amp-like EQ curve make it a dream platform for stacking fuzz, distortion, or clean boost pedals.

How accurate are your condition descriptions?
