The EarthQuaker Devices Plumes has earned its place as one of the most respected modern overdrive pedals by taking a familiar tube-style circuit and reimagining it from the ground up. Rather than simply recreating a vintage classic, EarthQuaker refined every aspect of the design with increased headroom, lower noise, greater clarity, and three distinct clipping modes that make Plumes equally at home as a transparent boost, articulate overdrive, or punchy distortion. Its ability to complement virtually any amplifier has made it a staple on pedalboards across every genre.

Built entirely with analog circuitry, Plumes replaces the traditional 4558 op-amp architecture with modern JFET operational amplifiers and internally converts the incoming 9V supply to ±9V for dramatically increased headroom and dynamic response. The intuitive three-knob control layout is paired with a three-position clipping switch, allowing players to move seamlessly between compressed vintage-inspired drive, a powerful clean boost, or a more open and transparent overdrive. Complete with EarthQuaker's Flexi-Switch technology for both latching and momentary operation, this used pedal is an incredibly versatile addition to any pedalboard.
