Döerfler's Pernambuco bows are crafted from carefully selected woods that have been stored and dried for around 30 years. Due to its exceptional hardness and density, Pernambuco is the preferred wood for high-quality bow making. This wood originates from the northern and east-central regions of Brazil, specifically from the Caesalpinia echinata tree, commonly known as Pau Brasil. Döerfler viola bows offer not just auditory but also visual harmony. To ensure their continued inspiration to musicians, the design of several Döerfler bows has been refined, including adjustments to the rear edge of the bow head for a more harmonious appearance in both Brazilwood and Pernambuco models.
The Döerfler DO15A is an excellent choice for advancing student and advanced violists alike, and pairs particularly well with Scott Cao 850, 950, and 1500 Artistic Series violas.
