The BOSS SL-20 Slicer is a compact pedal built for turning ordinary playing into rhythmic, animated textures. It takes whatever you feed into it and chops the signal into 50 different slice patterns, ranging from tight percussive grooves to more melodic and harmonic rhythms. With controls for attack, duration, effect level, and direct level, you can shape how sharply the slices hit and how much of your original sound remains underneath, making it useful for everything from guitar and bass to keyboards, synths, and other electronic sounds.

The SL-20 also gives you plenty of control over timing and movement. Tap tempo lets you lock into the feel of a song on the fly, while MIDI synchronization allows it to stay in time with other gear. A selection of output modes adds even more personality, including stereo effects and 3D panning options that can make the sliced signal move around the stereo field. An expression pedal can be connected for hands-on control of the attack, duration, effect level, and direct level, giving you another way to manipulate the effect while you play.

With stereo inputs and outputs, MIDI, an expression pedal connection, and up to 40 seconds of recording time, the SL-20 is ready to fit into a wide range of setups.
