- Specifically Designed for Upright Bass
- Includes Updated 3000AE Preamp with EQ, Latest Version!
- Bass, Treble and Volume controls
- Easy to Install!
Designed for accurate sound reproduction of the acoustic upright bass without permanently installing a transducer. Clamps easily to bass bridge and removes easily - no drilling or tools needed. This transducer is a favorite for its ability to capture the full musical range of the upright - delicate tones to deep lows. Includes the 3000AE preamp.
This clamp-style pickup can be easily attached to or removed from any standard-type bridge. No drilling or tools needed. The system is equally responsive to delicate high tones and deep lows, and delivers the full musical range of upright basses. The B3150 is preferred by bassist Terry Hale (George Strait).
Barcus-Berry Quality
Barcus Berry string instrument transducers have long been the preferred choice of leading professionals throughout the world. The Model 3125 for cello and B3150 for upright bass continue this tradition of excellence by incorporating some of the most advanced transducer design technology available. These transducers can be quickly and easily attached to or removed from any standard-type bridge. They have wide-band frequency response, essentially unlimited dynamic range and excellent string balance.
In addition, they offer a high degree of feedback rejection and outstanding signal isolation. These characteristics, coupledwith unexcelled reliability, make the 3125 and B3150 ideal for virtually all sound reinforcement and studio applications. These transducers can be employed with all types of instrument setup; plain or wrapped gut, nylon-core or steel-core strings can all beused in any desired combination.
3000AE Preamp
This system includes the newer, updated version of the 3000AE preamp that replaces both the 3000A and the original 3000AE preamps. This preamp will automatically detect the type of pickup used, and will adjust itself to either an electret microphone or piezo input. When used with a pickup that requires a power source, the power source will be turned on automatically.
The Barcus-Berry 3000AE is specifically designed to work with all Barcus-Berry condenser electret microphone and piezo pickup systems. The 3000AE features external bass, treble and volume frequency controls to allow a wide range of adjustment. Includes a belt clip for unrestricted movement. Mic/pickup not included. Battery operated, does not provide or run on phantom power.
Note: The Barcus-Berry website and some of their online and printed instruction manuals may still have references to the 3000 or 3000A preamps. However, this preamp has replaced both of those preamps and is now shipping with all Barcus-Berry systems that include a 3000 series preamp. Barcus-Berry is currently working to update those references.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you set up every guitar before it ships?
Yes. Every guitar that leaves our store has been professionally inspected, set up, and signed off by the technician who worked on it. You will find a signed checklist inside the box when your order arrives.
How accurate are your condition descriptions?
We treat condition grading as a contractual promise, not an approximation. When we list something as excellent, that reflects a specific, consistent standard we apply across every instrument. We encourage you to call us before purchasing if you want a detailed in-hand description of any specific guitar.
