The Fender Custom Shop 2026 NAMM #292 Special Edition 1952 Telecaster in Aged Black is a bold tribute to the earliest Blackguard era, finished in Flash Coat lacquer and treated to a true Super Heavy Relic that looks and feels like decades of hard touring. The wear runs deep across the body, neck, and even into the frets, giving it the broken-in comfort and visual authority of a well-played original.

An ash body delivers the snap, twang, and airy resonance that define early ’50s Teles, while the 5/4 quartersawn maple neck adds stability and clarity. Carved to a substantial ’57 Style Soft “V” profile, it fills the hand without feeling oversized, striking a balance between vintage heft and modern comfort. The 9.5” radius and narrow tall frets make bends smooth and expressive while preserving classic feel.

Handwound 50–51 Blackguard single-coils provide raw, dynamic response with woody lows, cutting upper mids, and that unmistakable Tele bite. Clean tones shimmer with detail and articulation, while driven settings reveal rich harmonic texture and punch. The included option of the Fat ’50s wiring adds vintage-inspired tonal flexibility, letting the pickups breathe in a way that feels authentic and alive.

Finished with a period-correct 51–54 bridge, vintage-style tuners, bone nut, and full case candy including a bridge cover and certificate of authenticity, this NAMM Special Edition is equal parts collector-grade piece and serious player’s instrument.
