The Torpedo Captor X (8-Ohm) is a compact, high-quality reactive load box and attenuator designed for tube amp users. It can handle up to 100W RMS and features a reactive load that mimics the dynamic feel of a real speaker cabinet. With three selectable attenuation levels—0 dB, -20 dB, and -38 dB—you can push your amp into its sweet spot while keeping the overall volume under control, making it just as useful for home practice as it is for recording or stage work.

Beyond safe power handling and volume control, the Captor X delivers powerful digital processing and speaker simulation. Its DynIR engine provides 32 virtual cabinets, multiple microphone models with flexible placement options, and realistic room ambience, plus the ability to load your own impulse responses. Dual XLR outputs let you send stereo, dual-mono, or dry/wet signals to a PA or recording interface, while onboard tools like EQ, reverb, enhancer, noise gate, and MIDI or app-based control give you deep tonal shaping. It’s a versatile all-in-one solution for capturing authentic amp tones without needing to mic a cabinet.
