The Gibson Custom Shop 1936 Advanced Jumbo Murphy Lab Heavy Aged captures the legendary tone, style, and feel of one of Gibson’s most sought-after acoustic models. Originally produced in limited numbers from 1936-1939, the Advanced Jumbo became a hidden gem among vintage acoustics, known for its exceptional resonance, powerful projection, and timeless aesthetics. This reissue features a thermally aged red spruce top, hand-scalloped Advanced X-bracing with hide glue construction, and solid rosewood back and sides, delivering the warmth, depth, and clarity of a well-aged vintage instrument. The mahogany neck is shaped to the historic Advanced Jumbo profile and paired with a rosewood fingerboard, mother-of-pearl diamonds and arrows inlays, and a 25.5-inch scale length for a comfortable, vintage-inspired feel.

The Murphy Lab Heavy Aged treatment gives this guitar an authentic, well-loved appearance, with heavily weather-checked nitrocellulose lacquer, belt buckle wear, light arm wear, and light neck wear, recreating decades of play in a way that only the skilled artisans at Gibson Custom can achieve. Premium Waverly tuners, a bone nut, saddle, and bridge pins, and a firestripe pickguard complete the period-correct details. This guitar comes with a Gibson Custom period-correct hardshell case and a Certificate of Authenticity, ensuring its status as a collector’s dream and a musician’s lifelong companion.
