This Fender Custom Shop 1965 Stratocaster Super Heavy Relic delivers the feel, look, and tone of a guitar that has lived a lifetime on stage. Part of the Time Machine series, this instrument was crafted in the Fender Custom Shop to capture the magic of a well-worn vintage Strat — complete with an ultra-aged finish, distressed hardware, and authentic hand-wound pickups. From its first glance, it looks like a road warrior; from its first note, it feels like an old friend.

A lightweight 2-piece select alder body provides resonant tone, while the maple neck with a 1965 “C” profile and 3A rosewood fingerboard ensures smooth playability. Narrow tall frets, a 9.5” radius, and modern wiring give it contemporary versatility while retaining classic Strat character. The Custom Shop Hand-Wound ’65 pickups deliver all the sparkle, chime, and bite you’d expect from an authentic mid-’60s Stratocaster.

Every detail — from the bone nut to the aged white plastics, synchronized tremolo, and period-correct string tree — shows the painstaking craftsmanship that went into recreating a guitar that looks like it has decades of stories to tell. Complete with a deluxe hardshell case and certificate of authenticity, this is a Strat built for players who want history in their hands. Perfect for seasoned pros looking to tap into legendary sound and style, or collectors itching to add a true beauty to their collection, this custom Strat is available right now at Haggerty’s Music.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you set up every guitar before it ships?

Yes. Every guitar that leaves our store has been professionally inspected, set up, and signed off by the technician who worked on it. You will find a signed checklist inside the box when your order arrives.

How accurate are your condition descriptions?

We treat condition grading as a contractual promise, not an approximation. When we list something as excellent, that reflects a specific, consistent standard we apply across every instrument. We encourage you to call us before purchasing if you want a detailed in-hand description of any specific guitar.

Can I call and speak to someone about a guitar before I buy?

Yes, and we encourage it. Our team are working musicians, not order-takers. Call us at 605-348-6737 and ask about any instrument in our inventory. We will physically pull it off the wall and describe it to you in detail.

What is your return policy?

We offer a 14-day return policy if you change your mind and the item is returned undamaged. You are responsible for return shipping costs.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. Financing options are available at checkout. Monthly payment options are designed to make high-ticket purchases more accessible without requiring full payment upfront.
