A nod to the golden era of “Gypsy Jazz” — an upbeat acoustic genre borne from the 1930’s that combined American innovations, French sensibilities and Romani folk rhythms — the Eastman DM3 Grande Bouche captures the spirit of pioneer Django Reinhardt’s unmistakable sound while offering modern reliability and craftsmanship. Available now at Haggerty’s Music, this instrument is designed for players who crave that dry, punchy attack and percussive rhythm that define traditional “manouche” style guitar.

Built with a solid Sitka spruce top and ladder-braced construction, the DM3 delivers a fast, immediate response with strong projection and a focused midrange that cuts through ensembles with ease. The grande bouche (large oval soundhole) design enhances warmth and depth, making it ideal for rhythm playing and chordal work, while still offering enough clarity for melodic lines.
