The Alvarez MD60ce is a flagship model from the acclaimed Masterworks Series, a line dedicated to all-solid wood construction and exceptional tonal clarity. Designed with discerning flatpickers and dynamic strummers in mind, this guitar fuses traditional bluegrass inspiration with innovative Alvarez craftsmanship. It features a solid AAA Sitka spruce top paired with solid African mahogany back and sides, producing bold low-end, shimmering treble detail, and articulate midrange response. The cutaway dreadnought body allows for effortless upper-fret access, while the eye-catching Shadowburst gloss finish, open-gear tuners, premium mother-of-pearl inlays, and extended fingerboard lend it a refined, stage-ready presence.
Inside, Alvarez’s exclusive FS6 forward-shifted scalloped bracing unlocks more soundboard vibration and projection, while the ATR (Advanced Tonal Response) wood-curing process accelerates the natural aging effect of the tonewoods. This results in a more open, resonant, and mature tone — right out of the case. The guitar also comes factory-equipped with the LR Baggs HiFi pickup system, which utilizes dual bridge plate sensors and a studio-grade preamp to deliver an exceptionally natural plugged-in tone with great dynamic range and feedback resistance.
This Masterworks model is more than a premium dreadnought — it’s a carefully engineered instrument made to perform across genres, from bluegrass to folk, country, Americana, and beyond. Whether you're recording, gigging, or writing your next song at home, the MD60ce provides all the tonal nuance, power, and playability you could ask for. Available now at Haggerty’s Music.

How accurate are your condition descriptions?
We treat condition grading as a contractual promise, not an approximation. When we list something as excellent, that reflects a specific, consistent standard we apply across every instrument.
