Gibson IM90R-NH 490R Modern Classic Neck Guitar Pickup is much rocking, harder, and louder than anything else before it. Truly for new generation players, were demanding more sturdy amplifiers with enhanced volume outputs to perform their sonic explorations. The introduction of the revolutionary 490T and 490R pickups (T for treble, and R for rhythm), which has the popular characteristics of the original Patent Applied For pickups, simply with two key modifications.

For a more versatile, pickup that could split coils through a push/pull knob, and restrict microphonic feedback from occurring when the volumes were set up to maximum levels. A 4-conductor wiring system provides the 490s to be correlated to any push/pull knob, which allows performers to split the coils and boost versatility. Additionally, Gibson also included wax potting, which takes away with any air space, minimalizing microphonic feedback. However, 490R is a with the tonal characteristics of an original PAF, including an inadequate increase in upper mid-range response. And the 490T bridge pickup is calibrated to match the 490R, with pole pieces aligned a few extra apart to modify the spacing of the strings at the bridge, which is distinct than the spacing of the strings at the neck.
