The Taylor Academy 12e-N was created to make nylon-string tone more approachable without sacrificing sound quality or playability. Designed as part of Taylor’s Academy Series, this model blends classical warmth with modern comfort, offering an inviting entry point for new players while remaining expressive enough for experienced guitarists. Its compact Grand Concert body keeps the feel intimate and ergonomic, making it an excellent choice for long practice sessions, lessons, or relaxed performances.

At its core, the Academy 12e-N features a solid torrefied spruce top, treated with Taylor’s roasting process to deliver added warmth, sweetness, and a broken-in character right out of the box. Layered walnut back and sides contribute crisp highs and a woody low end that continues to open up over time. A wider 1-7/8" nut provides generous string spacing for fingerstyle and classical techniques, while Taylor’s carved armrest enhances comfort by reducing forearm fatigue.

Outfitted with ES-B electronics specifically voiced for nylon strings, this model offers natural amplified tone along with a built-in digital tuner for everyday convenience. Finished in a thin varnish to maximize resonance and shipped with a lightweight gig bag, the Academy 12e-N is a thoughtful, player-focused nylon-string guitar that balances tone, comfort, and value.
