The Gibson F-5G from the Modern Collection reimagines Gibson’s legendary F-5 design for today’s mandolin players. Blending tradition with innovation, it offers modern playability and premium tonewoods while preserving the timeless look and sound that define Gibson mandolins.

Crafted with a carved Sitka spruce top paired with figured red maple back, sides, and neck, the F-5G delivers exceptional resonance, clarity, and balance across the tonal spectrum. Its unbound ebony fingerboard features a comfortable 14-degree radius, a short fingerboard extension, and no pickguard for an open, contemporary feel.

With refined contours, updated construction techniques, and a Dark Burst gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish, the F-5G provides an enhanced acoustic response and a striking visual presence.

Each Gibson Custom Shop F-5G ships fully set up, inspected, and insured from Haggerty’s Music in Rapid City, South Dakota, and includes a Gibson hardshell case for premium protection.
