The JHS 424 Gain Stage captures the unmistakable character of plugging directly into a TASCAM Portastudio 424, now in an easy-to-use pedal format. Perfect for players chasing the elastic cleans, lo-fi textures, or fully saturated fuzz you’d hear form artists such as Radiohead, Spoon, and Mac Demarco, the 424 Gain Stage offers the same tone-shaping flexibility as the original recording unit, thanks to faithfully recreated circuits with original UPC4570 and NJM4565 op-amps. Two gain stages, master volume, and dedicated bass and treble EQ let you sculpt everything from subtle boost to blown-out fuzz. The pedal includes both a 1/4” output and a balanced XLR DI output, making it equally at home on a pedalboard, in the studio, or on a recording desk.
