The Epiphone 1957 SJ-200 Reissue brings back one of the most iconic flat-top acoustics ever made, crafted in collaboration with Gibson Custom to honor the legendary original. Known as the “King of the Flat-Tops,” the SJ-200 has long been the instrument of choice for country greats, folk heroes, and rock legends, thanks to its powerful projection, lush resonance, and unmistakable presence.
This reissue features a thermally aged solid Sitka spruce top for enhanced tonal response and vintage character, paired with solid figured maple back and sides that add clarity and shimmer. The flame maple neck with a walnut center stringer provides both strength and elegance, while the laurel fretboard with graduated crown inlays adds classic styling. Traditional appointments like the J-200 moustache bridge with mother-of-pearl bars, engraved pickguard, and six-ply binding capture the vintage vibe.
Equipped with an L.R. Baggs Element Bronze VTC preamp and under-saddle pickup, the 1957 SJ-200 Reissue is stage-ready and delivers a warm, natural amplified tone. Whether you’re playing acoustic ballads, strumming folk rhythms, or filling out a full band mix, this guitar has the depth and projection to shine. Complete with an Inspired by Gibson Custom hardshell case, this reissue offers vintage style, modern reliability, and timeless tone. Available now at Haggerty’s Music.
