This used 1981 8.6lb Gibson will ship insured, fully set up, and inspected from our Rapid City, SD location. This guitar is in very good condition, especially conditioning it's age! There are surface scratches and scuffs through out, a couple small dings on the back and side body, two dings on the guitar top lower bout, a few dings and scratches on the neck, and it is missing the switch cover ring.

The Les Paul XR models were available from 1981 till 1982 and were the precursor to the Les Paul Studio. These guitars were available in 3 different models :

- Les Paul XR-I with dirty fingers pickups

- Les Paul XR-II with mini humbuckers

- Les Paul XR-III with Tim Shaw pickups

All with an ebony fretboard, dot markers, unbound neck and no pickguard.

The Les paul XR-II has a bound slab body which was available in sunburst or natural. It is equipped with two mini humbuckers same as the Les Paul Deluxe and is factory equipped with a mini switch which will allow you to split pickups. You won't commonly find that option on any other guitars!
