This guitar features a resonant basswood body with a beautifully arched quilt maple top, providing a perfect balance of sustain and tone. The neck is a robust, graphite-reinforced bolt-on quartersawn baked maple, meticulously crafted to Eddie Van Halen’s exact specifications for exceptional comfort and speed. The hand-rubbed satin urethane finish on the back of the neck ensures smooth, effortless playability, while the 12”-16” compound radius baked maple fingerboard, with 22 jumbo frets and black dot inlays, is primed for aggressive riffing and blazing leads. Plus, adjusting the truss rod is easier than ever with a convenient spoke wheel at the base of the neck.

At the heart of the Wolfgang Special are a pair of custom-designed EVH® Wolfgang Alnico 2 humbucking pickups, mounted directly to the body for unrivaled articulation, dynamic response, and sustain. These pickups deliver everything from tight, punchy rhythms to soaring, melodic leads with ease. Paired with the EVH-branded Floyd Rose® locking tremolo and locking nut, you'll experience precise tuning stability—even after extreme bends and dives. The EVH D-Tuna® lets you drop to a perfect drop-D tuning and back with a simple flick of your finger, giving you even more versatility on stage.

The guitar's controls include a smooth volume knob with a treble bleed circuit and a 500K EVH Bourns® low friction pot for smooth volume swells, plus a tone control knob with a 250K Bourns high friction pot to prevent accidental tone shifts while you play.
