Crafted in collaboration with Gibson™ Custom, the Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom 1963 Firebird I is a faithful recreation of the iconic guitar designed by legendary automotive designer Ray Dietrich. Originally introduced in 1963 as Gibson’s first neck-through-body model, the Firebird™ became a favorite of players across genres, including blues legend Johnny Winter, Keith Richards and Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, and Phil Manzanera of Roxy Music.

This modern masterpiece stays true to vintage Firebird specifications while remaining accessible. It features a 9-ply neck-through-body construction made of mahogany and walnut, complemented by mahogany body wings for superior resonance. The headstock boasts Kluson® planetary geared “banjo” tuners, while the body is anchored by a Wraparound Lightning Bar bridge for exceptional sustain and stability.

True to its stripped-down heritage, the Firebird I is equipped with premium electronics, including a Gibson USA Firebird mini humbucker™ pickup with Alnico 5 magnets, CTS® potentiometers, a Mallory™ capacitor, and a Switchcraft® 1/4” output jack. Together, these components deliver the unmistakable sound and look of the classic 1963 Firebird I.

To complete the package, the guitar comes with an Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom hardshell case, making it stage-ready right out of the box.
