Taylor’s Builder’s Edition 812ce LTD, created to celebrate their 50th anniversary, showcases exceptional craftsmanship, premium tonewoods, and player-focused refinements. This Grand Concert model pairs Indian rosewood, prized for its deep bass, sparkling trebles, and lush overtones, with sinker redwood, a reclaimed wood from Northern California rivers offering cedar-like warmth, touch sensitivity, and a broad dynamic range. The V-Class bracing enhances volume, sustain, and intonation, while ergonomic features such as a beveled armrest, cutaway, chamfered edges, and a contoured Curve Wing bridge elevate comfort and playability. Its shorter 24-7/8” scale length adds to the effortless fretting and slinkier string feel.
Striking visual elements include an abalone rosette with rosewood/maple/black purfling, rosewood binding around the soundhole, black/maple/rosewood top purfling, and an Indian rosewood pickguard. The fretboard and peghead feature Element inlays in gold-hued mother-of-pearl, complemented by maple purfling along the back, fretboard, and peghead. A Kona Edgeburst on the back and sides creates a moody aesthetic, highlighted by a gloss finish that emphasizes the guitar’s elegant contours. Additional details include ebony bridge pins with gold acrylic dots, Gotoh 510 antique gold tuners, and a commemorative anniversary label.
