The Legacy 514ce, originally created for Taylor's 50th anniversary, celebrates the iconic Grand Auditorium body shape, a Bob Taylor innovation that has transformed the sound, appearance, and feel of acoustic guitars since its introduction in 1994. This special Legacy model features a unique tonewood combination not found in Taylor's standard lineup: mahogany back and sides paired with a Western Red cedar top. Mahogany’s punchy midrange and dry, woody tone complement cedar’s warmth and responsiveness, making this guitar ideal for fingerstyle players and strummers with a lighter touch. The guitar is voiced with the X-bracing used in the original Grand Auditorium models and includes Taylor’s signature slim, easy-playing neck profile, ensuring an inspiring experience for both traditional and modern players. Design details reflect Bob Taylor’s sleek, understated aesthetic, with faux tortoiseshell binding and pickguard, white and black top purfling, Small Diamond fretboard inlays in mother-of-pearl, a three-ring green abalone rosette, ebony bridge pins with green abalone dots, gold tuning machines, and a gloss body finish complemented by a satin neck finish. This Legacy 514ce comes equipped with ES2 electronics, featuring discreet soundhole-mounted controls, and is shipped with a deluxe hardshell case.
